BRANDING & IDENTITY

With millions of businesses trying to make a name for themselves, having a strong brand is crucial. When creating an identity for a brand, I am trying to communicate what it is the brand stands for. That, in turn, gives the company a purpose.

Creating a compelling logo is a vital element in the branding process — it’s the most recognizable part of any brand. When I design a logo my goal is to make it memorable, but it should also make the brand more authoritative in the marketplace.

Usability and utility combined with striking and engaging visual design can determine the success or failure of a website; or… for the laymen, it has to work and it should look good doing so.

PRINT ADVERTISING

A large part of my role is the creation of all marketing materials including magazine adverts. The company maintains a constant presence in eight different international magazines.

WEB / BANNER ADS

Creating new banner ads is a constant and consistent part of my job. I strive to make banner and web ads that are both visually pleasing and intriguing… Something people will actually want to click on. Because the viewer is probably only going to glance at an ad for a second, I keep the visuals simple and if appropriate, animated.

INFORMATIONAL DESIGN

Good informational design should be compelling, in terms of the information and the visual design. You should be able to understand the key message from looking at it for only a moment.

PRODUCT DESIGN

When designing products I always allow form to follow function. There are many limitations that must be considered such as: weight, performance, materials, safety and user experience, to name a few. If I consider all these aspects when tackling a new product the aesthetics come naturally.

ICON DESIGN

Working for a very technical company, designing technical icon is a common task. Icons must be clean, simple, legible, and most importantly, instantly recognizable.
